Press reports from each of the 72 days between the time of the discovery of Carrie Brown's body including the day after the official verdict was delivered in Court April 24-July 4, 1891

After the incarceration of Ali in July 1891, reportage slowed down considerably. Things would pick up by the end of the century as three pardon efforts in the 19th Century ( 1898,1899, and 1900) were launched.

The year 1901 was the critical year in which machinery already in motion for a decade to obtain Ali's release culminated in a series of sworn documents by George G. Damon and associates, as well as others involved in the pardon campaigns. 1902 would find Ali being released from custody, exactly 11 years to the day from Carrie Brown's murder.
